Mid-rangeTsavo & the South Coast safaris
Kenya’s largest park: the dust-red elephants of Tsavo East, the springs and viewpoints of Tsavo West, and Diani’s white-sand coast to finish.

Visiting Tsavo & the South Coast
Tsavo East and Tsavo West together form one of the largest protected areas in Africa. Tsavo East is open and wild, known for red dusted elephants, the Galana River and the Lugard Falls. Tsavo West is hillier, with the Mzima Springs, lava flows and the Ngulia rhino sanctuary.
Safari from the coast
Tsavo is the closest big park to Diani, Mombasa and Watamu, so it is the natural choice for a short safari from the beach, usually two or three days, often combined with Amboseli.
When to go
June to October and January to February are the driest months, when animals gather near water. The green season brings fewer vehicles and lower rates.
