Volcan Tours & Travel is a licensed safari operator based in Nairobi. We design the itineraries on this website, set the prices and run the trips, all from one office.
Why we started Volcan
Volcan Tours was founded so that travellers can plan directly with the team that runs their safari on the ground. Travel agents and tour operators abroad are welcome too: we work with them as a local partner.
Our team is based in Nairobi. We plan every itinerary in our office, brief the guides who drive you and check the vehicles before each safari. When you message us, you reach the people who will plan your trip.
Most of our safaris are private: your vehicle stops when you want it to and your guide shapes the day around your interests. For travellers on a tighter budget we also run a shared safari, and each itinerary states clearly which kind it is.

Clear, itemised prices
Our quotes list accommodation, park fees, transfers and permits separately. The price we confirm in writing is the price you pay. The only exception is a government increase in park fees or taxes, which is passed on at cost, as our booking terms explain.
Licensed and accountable
We are a Kenyan tour operator licensed by the Tourism Regulatory Authority. We share our licence and insurance documents with any client on request.

Our driver-guides
Professional driver-guides, licensed by the Tourism Regulatory Authority and briefed by our office before every safari. They know the wildlife and the roads well, and they plan each game drive around your interests.
