Nairobi National Park is the only national park on the edge of a capital city. Lion, rhino, buffalo, giraffe, zebra and antelope roam open plains with the city skyline behind them, which makes it a memorable first or last day in Kenya.
Half day or full day
A morning game drive fits easily around arrival or departure flights. Many visitors add the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust elephant orphanage, the Giraffe Centre and the Karen Blixen Museum for a full Nairobi day.
When to go
The park is good all year; early mornings bring the best light and the most active animals.
