These are the official entry rules that affect most Volcan Tours safaris. Rules change, so always confirm on the official government sites before you book flights, and apply only through those sites, never through a third party agent.
Uganda and Rwanda
Uganda issues visas online through its official immigration portal, and some nationalities can use the East Africa Tourist Visa; check the current rules for your passport before you apply. Rwanda issues visas on arrival and online through its official portal, Irembo. A yellow fever certificate is required for Uganda and may be requested elsewhere depending on your route.
Health
See a travel clinic at least six weeks before you travel. Malaria is present in most safari areas, so ask about antimalarials. Read our guide to yellow fever, malaria and visas in East Africa.
Travel insurance
Every traveller must hold personal travel insurance that covers medical treatment, emergency evacuation, cancellation and repatriation. Emergency evacuation cover is not included in Volcan Tours prices. Tanzania’s government inbound insurance is a separate legal requirement and does not replace your own policy.
When we confirm your safari we tell you exactly what applies to your passport and route. Ask us if anything is unclear.
