Praro Amboseli Camp
Aloca Conservancy, bordering Amboseli National Park
Praro Amboseli Camp lies just outside Amboseli National Park in the Aloca Conservancy, a private wildlife area that borders the park. This location gives easy access to Amboseli’s famous elephant herds and views of Mount Kilimanjaro, while the conservancy itself offers a quieter setting away from the busier park roads. The camp is a large luxury tented property, with tented rooms that each have an indoor lounge, an outdoor seating area and an en suite bathroom with hot shower, plus fans and tea and coffee facilities. Some rooms face open savannah. A dam in front of the camp is a magnet for wildlife, drawing elephants, giraffes, antelopes and baboons, and occasionally lions and cheetahs, so there is often something to watch without leaving camp. Facilities include indoor and outdoor lounges, a bar, two dining areas with a wine cellar and live cooking stations, and a swimming pool overlooking the dam. Praro suits travellers who want comfort and good wildlife viewing close to the park, including couples and families on a first safari.
