Ilkeliani Camp

Ilkeliani Camp sits on the banks of the Talek River, just outside the Maasai Mara National Reserve, with a private footbridge across the river giving direct access into the reserve. Safari vehicles wait on the reserve side, so game drives begin almost as soon as you cross, usually at dawn and in the late afternoon when wildlife is most active, with full day drives and picnic meals also possible. The camp’s tents are generously spaced for privacy and are arranged in two wings, with premium tents set apart from the main area and standard tents on raised wooden decks, all with a lounge area and a secluded veranda. A family unit links two tents with a shared living space. Unusually for the Mara, there is a swimming pool, plus a viewing deck, bar and dining tent. Hot air balloon flights, visits to a nearby Maasai village, nature walks around the grounds and spa treatments can be arranged. It suits families, couples and first time visitors seeking a relaxed base close to the wildlife.
