Nasikia Mobile Migration Camp
Serengeti, mobile: Kogatende and the southern Serengeti/Ngorongoro area
Nasikia Mobile Migration Camp is a seasonal tented camp that relocates during the year to stay close to the great wildebeest migration. For part of the year it is set up at Kogatende in the northern Serengeti, within reach of the Mara River crossings, and for the rest it moves to the short grass plains of the southern Serengeti on the edge of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, where the herds gather to give birth. Being mobile means guests are positioned for the key moments of the migration rather than driving long distances to find it. The camp is deliberately simple and good value, with spacious Meru style tents furnished with large comfortable beds and storage, mesh windows looking onto the plains, and en suite bathrooms with bucket showers and flushing toilets. Lighting is solar powered, and each tent has a veranda for watching wildlife between drives. A shared lounge, bar and dining tent form the social heart of camp. Days are built around game drives, and one tent is set aside for families. The camp suits migration seekers, photographers and travellers who value location over luxury.
