Nasikia Mandhari Lodge

Mandhari Lodge, run by Nasikia Camps, is perched high on the Manyara Escarpment above Lake Manyara National Park. Mandhari means view in Swahili, and the name is well earned: the lodge looks out across the Rift Valley towards Lake Manyara, Lake Natron and the Monduli Mountains. From here it is easy to explore Lake Manyara, with its forests, birdlife and elephants, and to continue to the Ngorongoro Crater or Tarangire. This is a small lodge with just nine rooms, so it feels spacious and peaceful. Most are glass fronted suites that make the most of the panorama, and there is also a honeymoon suite and two family rooms. Rooms are built with locally sourced materials and furnished in a comfortable modern style, with large beds, generous sofas and well appointed bathrooms. Many guests single out the infinity pool, built on the edge of the escarpment. As wildlife moves freely around the lodge, children must be supervised and very young children are not advised. Mandhari suits honeymooners, couples and families with older children who want a quiet stay with big views.
