House of Waine

House of Waine is an elegant boutique hotel in the leafy Karen and Langata suburbs of Nairobi, at the foot of the Ngong Hills, set in around two and a half acres of quiet gardens. It makes a gracious base before or after a safari, around fifteen minutes from Wilson Airport for light aircraft flights to the parks and about forty minutes from the international airport. The Giraffe Centre, the Sheldrick elephant orphanage and the Karen Blixen Museum are all close by. The hotel has eleven rooms, each decorated around its own theme in a blend of modern African design and classic comfort, with large marble bathrooms. Many rooms can be arranged as twins or doubles, and interconnecting options work well for families. One room features a four poster bed, a claw foot bath and a working fireplace, a favourite with couples. Seasonal set menus use fresh local ingredients and can be enjoyed in the dining room, by the heated pool or in the garden, with two bars reserved for guests. It suits honeymooners, couples and families.
