Great Rift Valley Lodge & Golf Resort

The Great Rift Valley Lodge & Golf Resort is a Heritage Hotels property set high on the Eburru Escarpment above Lake Naivasha, a couple of hours’ drive from Nairobi. From its terraces and rooms the views take in the Rift Valley floor, the lake, the crater of Mount Longonot and the Aberdare Mountains. Accommodation comes in two styles. Lodge rooms have a fireplace, a lounge corner and a balcony, and some can be joined to make family rooms. The Longonot Villas are set out like small homes over three floors, with a kitchen, living and dining area and a master bedroom with its own balcony. Golfers will enjoy the 18-hole championship course, played against a backdrop of volcanoes and highland forest. Away from the fairways there is a swimming pool, tennis, a children’s club, horse riding, cycling and guided walks in the Eburru Forest. Boat trips for birdwatching on Lake Naivasha and cycling or walking in Hell’s Gate National Park are easy excursions. The resort suits families, golfers and travellers breaking the journey between Nairobi and the Maasai Mara or western Kenya.
