Eden Nairobi

Eden Nairobi is a small boutique hotel in the green Karen suburb of Nairobi, set on an acre of wooded gardens with a small lake and outdoor lounge. Once a private home, it was converted into a hotel in 2016 by a family with long roots in Kenyan safari, and it has the relaxed feel of staying with stylish friends. There are just eight rooms. Three en-suite bedrooms are in the main house, and the former art studio now holds three duplex apartments and two studios. Breakfast is served on the covered veranda, and there is a bar and an open-plan living room with a fireplace for cool Nairobi evenings. Lunch and dinner can be arranged on request. The Giraffe Centre is about ten minutes away on foot, and Wilson Airport is around twenty minutes by road, which is convenient for light aircraft flights to the parks. Eden makes a calm, characterful first or last stop on a high-end Kenyan safari, and it is best suited to couples, honeymooners and adults travelling together, as children under twelve are not accepted.
