Ngorongoro Crater Lodge

andBeyond Ngorongoro Crater Lodge is perched on the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater, looking down into one of Africa’s great wildlife arenas. It is made up of three small camps, North Camp, South Camp and Tree Camp, the last tucked into woodland near the rim. Each suite is built in the style of a Maasai homestead, with opulent interiors that blend African craftsmanship and European grandeur, including four poster beds, wood burning stoves and freestanding baths beside windows looking out over the crater. A personal butler looks after every suite throughout the stay. Days revolve around guided game drives on the crater floor, with the chance to see the Big Five, whether at dawn, in the late afternoon or as a full day outing with a picnic. Guests can also take guided walks near the lodge, a full day hike at Empakai Crater, or a trip to Olduvai Gorge and the Shifting Sands. A dedicated programme keeps children busy, although very young children cannot stay. The lodge suits honeymooners, couples celebrating a milestone and travellers looking for a high level of luxury.
