Enganzi Game Lodge
Kichwamba escarpment, edge of Queen Elizabeth National Park
Enganzi Game Lodge sits on the Kichwamba escarpment, close to the border of Queen Elizabeth National Park in western Uganda. From this raised position the views stretch across the Albertine Rift towards the Rwenzori, known as the Mountains of the Moon. The lodge is built from local materials so that it blends quietly into the hillside. Guests stay in private cottages, each with a raised deck for taking in the scenery, and the bar and restaurant are placed to make the most of the outlook. Queen Elizabeth National Park is one of Uganda’s most varied reserves, with open savannah, crater lakes and the Kazinga Channel, where boat trips bring you close to hippos, buffalo, elephants and a wide variety of birds. The lodge makes a convenient base for game drives in the park and for onward travel to the Ishasha sector or to Bwindi for gorilla trekking. It suits couples, photographers and travellers who want a peaceful, good value base with a view on a Uganda safari.
